Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register my child for baseball or softball?
Registration will be held on Saturdays, Feb 10th and 17th 2024.  This is IN-PERSON only.  Online registration will NOT be available until after the two registration days have completed.  At that point, only leagues with available spots will be open for online registration and a late fee will be charged.  Please see the Registration Information tab for detailed dates/times.

When does the season start?
The league season starts on Opening Day, which is planned in April and could run through the end of June (6/25) depending on the league tournament schedule which is typically determined in early June.

What is the game schedule?
Game schedules are not made until all teams have been chosen and a determination is made regarding how many games can actually be scheduled based on diamond availability.  There is room for only a certain number of games, and there is no way to know how many teams there will be until all registrations are complete.  Game schedules will be distributed by your child's coach.

What is the practice schedule?
Practice schedules are up to the individual team managers.  Players are limited to 3 activities a week.  Prior to the start of the season, teams may obviously practice up to 3 times a week.  Once the season starts, practices may be scheduled if a team has less than 3 games scheduled for that week.

When might teams play or practice?
Practices and games are typically scheduled to begin around 5:30 or 6, Mon-Fri until school is out or on Saturdays.  Some teams may have a game start as late as 7:30 or 8 throughout the week.  However, while school is in session, no new inning may start after 9pm and all games must suspend by 9:30 on school nights.

How will I know which team my child is on?
Most players will go through some sort of scheduled evaluation in March.  Teams are determined after that and all players should be contacted by Monday, March 15th.

When are team pictures?
Team pictures will communicate by your coach and will occur regardless of weather.  Players should wear their uniform.  All team sponsors receive a sponsor plaque with the team picture.  Therefore, it is considerate to at least participate in the team picture even if no pictures are desired to be purchased.

What do I need to purchase for my child?
Each player should have their own mitt.  The league does have a few bats that teams can use, however most players typically have their own bat.  Please inquire at registration or with your team manager regarding the appropriate bat size.  For sanitary reasons, most players have their own helmet.  However, the league can furnish some team helmets if necessary.  All players should wear non-metal cleats.

Does the league have player insurance?
Pendleton Jr Baseball does register each player with a national program (BPA or USSSA).  Along with this registration comes player insurance that is designed to be a SECONDARY form of insurance if so needed.  Please do not count on this to cover all costs should an injury occur.
